Aamir Khan on the Issue of Intolerance: I am alarmed, my wife suggested moving out of India: (This article contains the updating news of Aamir Khans’ statement, just read it.)
Aamir Khan’s remarks on intolerance has stimulated all the celebrities of Indian film industry. Some of them are in favor of him whereas the others are criticizing his remark. The veteran actor Om Puri asked Aamir that he should apologise to the nation.
The 65 years old Om Puri has said while talking to a TV channel, “He (Aamir) should apologise to the nation for what he said. In fact, if somebody was an ordinary man he would have been arrested for saying these words. You are trying to incite people against each other.”
While, on the other side, the Oscar winning Bollywood singer, A. R. Rehman on Tuesday has just said that he is too feeling and facing the same situation as Aamir and his wife Kiran felt. He referred the fatwa that has been given against him by the Muslim’s Raza Academy which is Mumbai-based. The fatwa was based on the Song which he has composed for the Iranian film, ‘Muhammad: Messenger of God’. At that moment, his concert was cancelled by the minister of Delhi and UP, and Vishwa Hindu invited him to convert into Hinduism.
“Nothing should be violent. We’re all ultra-civilized people and we should show the world that we are the best civilization,” Rehman added, “Everything should be done classily. I feel what people are doing is very poetic. We should set an example for the world because we come from the land of Mahatma Gandhi; he has shown how a revolution can have an impact without any violence.”

The Pakistani filmmaker, Raza who has just gone to attend the awards ceremony officially, told it on Tuesday about the remarks of Aamir Khan. He has declared that he has been looking up Aamir Khan for many years and his contribution to the Bollywood industry that is awful. “What Aamir Khan is saying about intolerance and if there is a backlash, then one has to think that maybe he is right. It is Aamir Khan who is saying this. He is one of your best. He is one of your best actors and activists and he is a hard core Indian and it is in his blood…” Raza said at the ceremony of the International Film Festival of India.
The vice-president of the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi has supported Aamir Khan and his remark on intolerance. But Shahnawaz Hussain, the spokesperson of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), hit Rahul Gandhi and put a question in front of Aamir that who gave him such advices to do. The leader of BJP said, “When you become a big star, your remarks are misused on the platforms of the rival countries. Your remarks. Your remarks can draw publicity and can become headlines. But such comments can also defame the country. This is an incredible India. One should not tarnish its image.”
Hussain asserted, “Aamir makes a comment and Rahul supports it. It has become clear from Gandhi’s comment that there is a conspiracy going on in the country to defame the nation,” he added, “For the Muslims in India, no other country can be better than India; no neighbours could be better than the Hindus. Wherever you go, apart from India, you will find intolerance. India is the most tolerant country. Why do you want to leave India? If you have any problem, come to us. We can debate. Convince us that the atmosphere in the country has become such that it is impossible to stay here.”
The parliamentary minister M Venkaiah Naidu has made his statement on Tuesday, “some people are misleading and some people are misled. Who comes in which category, I do not want to say. Some are propagating wrong things some are coming under wrong propaganda. My suggestion is that the situation in India is better than any other country. There is more tolerance in India. People of India are tolerant.”
