Bollywood Stars Stand Up for Shah Rukh Khan over ‘Intolerance’ Remark
Shahrukh Khan has received the vicious comments by the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) including Yogi Adityanath, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Baba Ramdev. But over these remarks, SRK has collected incredible supportive statements by the Bollywood stars.

On Monday, Shahrukh Khan has stated as, “There is extreme intolerance … there is growing intolerance in India,” he added, “There was nothing worse than religious intolerance and that it would take India to the Dark Ages.”
He talked about the issue that has been in the top news of the channels for a few weeks ago. The writers are returning their national awards under the matter of emerging economic power named ‘climate of intolerance’. Almost more than 40 poets, novelists, playwrights and essayists have decided to give back their most precious awards that they have received by the most important institution ‘Sahitya Akademi’.
Nayantara Sahgal, one of Nehru’s nieces, has just asserted that “India’s culture of diversity and debate is now under vicious assault.” The name of the most popular writer Salman Rushdie, who has written many novels and essays and those books are also being taught to the students of English Literature, has not remained behind the scene of this scenario. While giving an interview to the local TV channel, he said that he considered that it is the failure of the present government at this stage to allow ‘a new degree of thuggish violence in India’.

Shahrukh Khan also shared his views on the issue of returning awards, he claimed that “People put words in the air even before thinking. Intolerance religiously…not being secular in this country is the worst crime you can do as a patriot.” When he was questioned about as if he return his award as a protest, he replied to the local television channel India Today, “I have not been in a situation like that. But I respect the people. If they think this gesture is going to turn things around, it is very brave, very honest. ”
The leaders of BJP have given their comments by comparing the veteran star with the terrorist named Hafiz Muhammad Saeed. On the statement of SRK, the BJP leader Yogi Adityanath took his name to compare him with the terrorist. The other leader Kailash commented over SRK’s remark that although SRK is living in India but his soul is still in Pakistan. “Shah Rukh Khan lives in India, but his heart is in Pakistan. His films make crores here but he finds India intolerant.” By calling him as an ‘anti nationalist’ Kailash said, “There is no difference in language of film actor Shah Rukh Khan and terror mastermind Hafiz Saeed”.
Anupam Kher raised his voice against the remark of the leader of BJP. He took to twitter and tweeted, “Some members of the BJP really need to control their tongue & stop talking rubbish about @iamsrk. He is a national icon & We r PROUD of him.”
The filmmaker Aparna Sen has just booted against the leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sadhvi Prachi. She tweeted, “Can't believe Sadhvi's reaction to SRK on tv! They're ones who want to break the country apart! There should be legal action against her!”
She is in favor to write a letter to the current president of Pranab Mukherjee rather favoring to ‘award wapasi’ protest. “Emotion behind returning awards laudable. But they were not all awarded by the present Govt. Any sense in Ray returning..@...award for Pather Panchali that he rcvd in 1956, for instance? We shd send a joint letter of protest to the President instead. "Let us all sign a joint letter to the President to protest against the curbing of freedom of speech. Who will draft the letter?,” she claimed.
Raghu Ram also gave his vote in the favor of SRK. He tweeted, “These clowns are no one to question anyone’s patriotism. Honest criticism isn’t anti-national. It’s democratic #IStandwith SRK,” he added, “Imo anyone who attacks critics as anti-national coz of their religion is anti-democracy, and hence, anti-national themselves #IStandwith SRK”
The Bajrangi Bhaijaan star Salman Khan refused to give any comment over the debate of BJP. He said that he is unable to judge the people with their remarks and as he was unaware of the statements of SRK on the issue of intolerance that’s why he could not give any answer about it. But further he added by giving the message as, “We all are humans, and should live in harmony. We all are here, we are sitting beside each other, does anything make it different? It doesn't matter. I believe that we are all Indians, we are all humans and we should love each other and live together. That is what my organisation Being Human is about. We don't go on asking who are you and where are you from and I don't believe in this at all.”
