Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Studio to be Knock Down for Orange Line Train

The late legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has really paid much costs and did a lot of struggle to accomplish his goals and bring the Pakistani culture at the highest level as it is today due to his most thriving songs and Qawwalis.


Lately, the government of Punjab’s main saga, ‘the Orange Line Train’ has become as a strange project. Whenever, there is an announcement of the ‘weapon of mass transition’ to make a room, the naysayers are always ready to pounce.

However, Big Brother is more elegant and knows everything that how to tackle the situations. He knows very well that what he is planning to do and what is dogged to make this work in some way. The most recent casualty situated on the main road is to acquire the metropolitan spectacle which is Sargam Studio located at Scheme More Chowk in Allama Iqbal Town.

Large machineries and bulldozers have been arranged to demolish the walls and the entire building of this legend superstar, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan where he used to do rehearsal and produced the most famous video songs for his fans not only in Pakistan but from the rest of the world as well. A very good amount of money is being offered to this place by the owner Raza Shah in the revenue which is around Rs 2 million. Raza Shah, the owner of the Sargam studio said,

“People from around the world approached me to purchase Sargam and many of the instruments kept here. I always told them it is out of the question,” he added, “I have myself seen Nusrat produce classics like Ali Da Malang and Jogi De Naal here.”


He has established the room for the production of music back in 1983 and very beautiful hymns and memorable songs were patchwork behind the walls of this room. This studio is famous with the top stories of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan as he used to spend most of his busy days and nights over there. His instruments as well as items of personal use are still replaced there. Shah recollects, “They would kiss the doorway before stepping in, carrying their footwear in their hands.”

The classical studio has become popular among the well-known personalities of the state and the political as well, including Imran Khan who is seeking for his own company. While, Shah has bought the whole place in a proffer to safeguard the golden memories of Nusrat. Some ruling parties are unhappy with this move as the Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League, Altaf Bajwa has stated, “I am the place’s co-owner. Jiyo Shaira, Jiyo Shaira was written by me only. As a worker of PML-N, I urge the government to not do this.”

Whereas, on the other hand, Khawaja Hasan, the project in-charge maintains Orange Line for the safety of the people. He says, “We will also secure our heritage and renovate the studio, rest assured.”
