The Contribution of Different Singers

A song is a melodic form of short poetry that contains different phrases to express the ideas, emotions or feelings in an artistic way. The songs might be formed with different patterns of musical elements and without containing words. But this genre must include the vocalization even though it is in any form. The words that are created for the songs are known as lyrics. There are different writers who have written these songs for the purpose to convey the feelings and emotions to everyone. To complement these lyrics, Bollywood industry has produced a number of movies and songs in correspondence to the other forms of music. Undoubtedly, the Indian cinema is considered as the best place where the songs can be divided into different genres such as folk, classical, popular, pop, remix songs, Punjabi songs and the most inspired forms of the songs as Ghazals. These songs have been produced in the movies, including the voice of the various singers. But the question that is most controversial for us as why do Indian movies have different singers for each song?

The Bollywood is a facet where all the diverse cultures are being depicted in different genres of music. The cultures and traditions have got the ways to move out their values through the medium of songs. All of these songs speak for the ethics, internal as well as external delicacies, emotions and feelings that built up the relationships, and these songs also depict beauty as same as it is being perceived among the different social groups. To accomplish this task, sometimes one genre of music is not enough to illustrate or express the emotions of the poet or the singer that they want to channel through the protagonists.

As we all know that music is known to relieve stress that pinches us psychologically but it is music that soothes our mind and ears in such distress or misery conditions. The truth is that the music in any form, can relieve the stress and can allow catharsis. Talking about the philosophers, like Plato, who have not been opposed to the charm which the music has. Plato believed, “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.”

Music in this way have been divided into different sections and the directors of the movies emerged different voices in the songs of the same movie. The songs of the movies have also contributed a lot in the publicity of the film. If the songs of the movie become hit and the hero of the movie is a superstar then for sure, the movie will gain three times more popularity than that of the single time. The Indian songs have been made in the way that can make you want to sing and jumping dance along with the song. The voice of the singers and their singing styles can make the different genres worth listening. Most of the time, a variety of songs does not suit to every singer. The variation in the sounds can make it easy to specify the musical genres for the singers. There are some vocals that have won our hearts through the medium of songs. The most popular forms of the songs are under below;

Classical Songs – the Indian movies are rich with this genre of music. The classical songs have embedded with the virtuous lyrics that depict the power of God and the reasons of His existence.

Folk Songs – the folk songs speak for the values, cultures, traditions, heritages, and the ethics of different societies. This genre of music has also gained much popularity among the other genres.

Ghazals – it is the only genre that is always being considered equal and has received the same appreciation across the borders. Pakistan is certainly rich with this genre and to make this genre more popular, the talented singers of Pakistan have produced many ghazals that are undepictable. The difference of the voices variant them from each other. In this regard, the Bollywood singers are required on different basis and have offered different songs to sing including Indian ghazals. An Indian classical singer, Hariharan has recently expressed his feelings that the young ghazal singers can be merged with the association of musical shows. By commenting on the scene of country’s ghazal, he said;

“If young ghazal singers get the opportunity to perform on platforms, such as Coke Studio, with western musicians, the results would be impressive. Young ghazal singers would help promote the style of music throughout the world.”

To sum up the whole discussion into a nutshell, we can say that Bollywood movies have traced the songs of historical genres. The songs required a broad view of the audience as it is the composition of not only the lyrics or the tune but also comprises the emotions and feelings of the people that cannot be neglected.
