Aamir Khan – Hero or Anti-Nationalist

As we know that the great Aamir Khan has recently made his statement to move out of India. It had to pay him heavily for what he said. Because most of the politicians as well as the Bollywood stars including singers have started to troll his statement.

Now-a-days, the media as well as the other social networks are buzzing with the statement of Aamir Khan, although he was correct in making such kind of remark over intolerance or not?

Over his remark, various Bollywood stars and politicians are stimulated and burning on fire. They are criticizing Khan with such a diatribe comments. Just like many other debates, it has also become a hot topic for the debaters to discuss it on the social network sites including Twitter.

Ashoke Pandit tweeted; “Now that @aamir_khan also feels we are an #IntolerantNation. Let us now go all out and prove once for all that we are really intolerant.”

Anupam Kher has posted a series of tweets on Twitter in response of Aamir Khan’s statement; “Dear @aamir_khan. Did you ask Kiran which country would she like to move out to? Did you tell her that this country has made you AAMIR KHAN. Did you tell Kiran that you have lived through more worse times in this country & but you never thought of moving out. When did 'Incredible India' become 'Intolerant India' for you? Only in the last 7-8 months? #AtithiDevoBhavah. Dear @aamir_khan Presumed country has become #Intolerant. Wat do u suggest 2 millions of Indians? Leave India? Or wait till regime changes? #SatyamevaJayate u talked about evil practices but gave Hope. So even in 'Intolerant' times u need 2 spread Hope not Fear.”

Abhijeet Bhattacharya, the Bollywood’s well known has tweeted, “I love my #India, will not tolerate any1 insulting our country, @aamir_khan u should worship Bharat who made u Amir. Horrified of terrorism n his religion #KiranRao lost faith in @aamir_khan, sachhi bhag jao agar Khan Chhura maar de?”

Bhattacharya has posted an open letter in the reaction of Aamir Khan’s statement on his Facebook fan page as;

An open letter to Janab Aamir Khan,

Janab Aamir Khan,

I am an ordinary Indian citizen and an avid movie-goer. You are a superstar in a country where the majority of movie-goers are Hindu. For years, we have spent our money to buy tickets for your movies. It is our money that has made you what you are today.

We clapped when as ACP Ajay Rathore, you destroyed a sweet-talking Gulfam Khan in Sarfarosh. We cheered when as Bhuvan, you played the winning shot in Lagaan. We cried when as a sensitive art teacher, you made us root for Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zamin Par.

A couple of generations before you, an Yusouf Khan had to become a Dilip Kumar to be accepted and a Mahajabeen Bano had to reinvent herself as Meena Kumari. Not you though. Neither you, nor your contemporaries had to hide your identity to be successful.

You became a star in a new India. An India, where only your first name mattered. We loved you because you were Aamir, a brilliant actor. Neither your last name mattered to us, nor your faith.

But yesterday, you proved to us that for you and your wife at least, it is your last name that matters more than anything else.

Your name is Khan and you Sir, are a hypocrite.

You did not scream intolerance when your city burned at the hands of some of your co-religionists. Your wife did not feel insecure when a mammoth crowd of some of your co-religionists attended the funeral of a hanged terrorist. You were silent even when a mob from Reza Academy kicked and destroyed a national memorial and manhandled female cops.

But now, suddenly, your wife feels insecure in India and wants you to move out.

If I WERE indeed intolerant, I would suggest you move to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the safest place on earth, where Begum Kiran Rao can feel absolutely secure inside her abaya and your little son can grow up watching public executions in a Riyadh square.

But I am not going to do that. As a tolerant Indian, the only thing I can and WILL do is to make sure that not even one rupee of my hard-earned money goes towards buying tickets for your movies. Thanks for the disappointments.

Regards, An Indian.

Besides these lashing out comments for Aamir Khan, there are also some Bollywood stars who have appeared with the positive response and reactions. As here we go to their tweets;

Vishal Dadlani, the famous music director of the Bollywood industry has tweeted, “More power to your voice, @aamir_khan Sir! This is OUR country, it belongs to ALL Indians. Not to rabid lunatics from any party/religion.”

Sanjay Gupta, the director of Indian cinema has said, “Those accusing Aamir Khan of being intolerant pl have da tolerance to watch da whole interview. Nowhere does he says he wants to leave India. ‘That was a disastrous statement for Kiran to make.’ Aamir Khan’s next line after saying that Kiran wants to leave. Hear the full interview.”

Ashwini Chaudhary, the Bollywood film director stated, “Bhakts are abusing @aamir_khan but in next 24 hours #anupamkher will give him a certificate of true Nationalist.”

Kamaal R Khan asserted, “People must try to think that why is Aamir Khan forced to say something about intolerance who was big supporter of Modi Ji earlier. Today all the TV channels are showing headline "Aamir's #Dangal with Modi" Khatam! Ho Gaya Aamir Khan Kaa Kaam Ab 300+Cr Pakka.”

At the end, I would like to say that every citizen has the rights to say independently whatever he wants or needs to say. If Aamir Khan has made such a statement, as being a resident, then he has complete authority to say. Why all the Indians are abusing him for his words? No one will say nothing if a common Indian/citizen would say these words. It is because that Aamir Khan is the great hero of the country and they are just honoring him via these (abusing) rewards.
